"... (the orchestra) responds to Argenta with total commitment, a marvellously passionate and vivid account that really gets under the skin of the fateful aura of this work and which ends with a trenchant view of the finale ... the performance is compelling ... a timely reminder of Argenta’s musical talent which was cruelly cut short." - ClassicalSouce.com This remastered Tchaikovsky collection combines two recordings made for Decca in the 1950s by two acclaimed conductors leading top orchestras. Spanish conductor Ataúlfo Argenta and the L'Orchestre de la Suisse Romande recorded Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 4 in 1955, while the 1812 Overture and companion pieces from the London Symphony Orchestra under Kenneth Alwyn were released in 1958.

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
