Over the course of his career both solo and in bands, Atlanta's Blake Rainey has been recognized as one of Georgia's finest songwriters. Citing influences ranging from Elvis Costello, Paul Simon and Nick Cave to Tom Waits, Johnny Cash and Hank Williams, his songs consist of heart-on-the-sleeve folk, country and scrappy rock. Helicopter Rose, his third release with his Demons, is checkered with smart wordplay and sharp storytelling in the tradition of those legendary influences. The album is also his most musically diverse, featuring horn arrangements, a cellist and pedal steel players. "I’ve always been drawn to people who write songs that are very unique. It takes a talent, or at least an attention to detail, to write lines that aren’t just like ‘Hey baby baby baby.’ You want to try and spin a story that you haven’t heard before. Or maybe you’ve heard it before, but there are interesting new twists in the song that make it fresh." - Blake Rainey

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
