Sir John Eliot Gardiner conducts the London Symphony Orchestra on this Stravinsky programme, recorded live at Gardiner's 70th birthday concert in April, 2013. Also featured are the Gentlemen of the Monteverdi Choir, considered one of the world’s leading choirs, joined by international and homegrown soloists including mezzo-soprano Jennifer Johnston as Jocasta and tenor Stuart Skelton as Oedipus. French actress Fanny Ardant delivers the narration in the original French version by Cocteau.
