The two canticles for Anglican Evensong, Magnificat and Nunc dimittis, are presented here in diverse settings by American composers including Craig Phillips, Roland Martin, Leo Sowerby, Gerald Near, Howard Helvey and Harold Friedell. Also featured on the album are world premiere recordings of Jubilate Deo by Phillips and Larry King’s A Canticle of Praise. The choirs of the Cathedral of St. Philip in Atlanta are joined by brass and percussion from the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and organists David Fishburn and Patrick A. Scott playing the cathedral's large Aeolian-Skinner organ Opus 1399.
