Carmen Braden is an emerging force in the world of new music, hailing proudly from the Canadian sub-Arctic in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories. Her landscape is her soundscape, as becomes evident on this debut album, a composite of original songs and chamber music that has Braden’s northern roots at the heart of each piece. Her voice is strongly heard as composer, singer and performer. Together with ECMA-winning producer Mark Adam and supporting musicians, most of whom are also based in Canada’s north, Braden makes a powerful statement that overcomes the boundaries between genres.
