Coexist or Die is the debut album from WALASTEK, the brainchild of Los Angeles sound collage artist Edison Elektrik. As a DJ in the early 2000s, he was lucky enough to have played with some of his musical heroes, but he dropped out of music for a decade to become a sushi chef. Fast forward to 2015 and the birth of alter ego WALASTEK, a project that refocuses his artistic energy, drawing inspiration from a time when techno, electro, dub and ragga intertwined. Blending melodic dubby patterns with heavy pounding kicks, WALASTEK toys with echoes and soundscapes, layered with stitched up sporadic textured percussion.
