Award-winning young Polish pianist Rafał Blechacz took a sabbatical from performing in 2016 to complete a doctorate in philosophy, his dissertation exploring aspects of the metaphysics and aesthetics of music. For his comeback album, Blechacz chose a programme dedicated entirely to J.S. Bach, one of his favourite composers.
