"The record's slick first single, Boys Like You, grooves through rhythm-heavy verses into dreamy, expansive choruses that put Doucet and McClelland's tested-and-true harmonies to good use. While Doucet rattles off visions of rock stardom, McClelland pipes in on a vicious hook to admonish him..."
- Noisey

Married couple Luke Doucet and Melissa McClelland, two of Canada's most respected singer-songwriters, have been collaborating since 2011 as the Juno Award-winning project Whitehorse, and Doucet's signature Gretsch guitar and McClelland’s blazing vocals and bass playing have forged a sound that is unmistakably theirs. Whitehorse's songwriting is distinguished by its cinematic flair, full of flawed characters, foiled plans and anti-fairytales that transform real life into sleek, stylized collages of neo-noir drama and high gloss. On the duo's fourth album Panther in the Dollhouse, Whitehorse turns a microscope on domestic life to reveal a writhing, tangled biota of dreams and desire, despair and degradation.

"sonically, I like to think this record is a soft little kitty cat with the claws of a panther."
- Melissa McClelland

"Panther in the Dollhouse owes much of its soul to early '90s British trip-hop and Chicano-infused Beck jams. It is a work of fiction. The characters portrayed are people you think you like and relate to but, admit it, you avoid them at all cost. Still, their stories are better than ours."
- Luke Doucet

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
