English composer John Ireland may have been best-known for his piano miniatures, but his pieces for string orchestra, presented on this release, encompass some of his most expressive and passionate works. Also included are a few of Ireland’s evocative piano works arranged for strings, including the exquisite Soliloquy and In a May Morning.
