The three members of award-winning Montréal-based jazz group Parc X Trio celebrate their 10th anniversary as bandmates and friends with Dream, showcasing their original blend of contemporary jazz harmonies, staggering dynamics, breakbeat grooves over odd time signatures and classical structures. As complex as the music might seem on paper, Parc X Trio navigates through the material effortlessly with grace and power. A subtle and tasteful approach to electronic production spices up the album sonically over the nine original compositions from all three members. Among the highlights is a reworking of Tchaikovsky’s theme from Swan Lake, with a sonic imprint that takes the original classic into the 21st century.
