"The most exciting thing the rock-worn room had ever harboured."
- Los Angeles Times

"... heartfelt and passionate ... full of fluttering horns and staccato rhythm guitar ... he tells the audience how happy he is to be there recording a live album and encourages the crowd to get as loud as they want. ‘Holler as loud as you want to, stomp as hard as you want to,’ he said. ‘Just take your shoes off. Get soulful ... we’ll get into a thing.'"
- Rolling Stone

This double album documents Otis Redding's barrier-breaking appearances at the Whisky A Go Go on the Sunset Strip in 1966. Recorded from Friday April 8 to Sunday April 10, the release features Redding and his nine-piece band on all his hits of the day, remixed and remastered from the original four-track analogue tapes.

"I remember standing right in front of the stage for the whole show. I never heard of Otis Redding before and I was amazed at the energy that he created on the stage."
- Robby Krieger
192 kHz / 24-bit, 96 kHz / 24-bit PCM – Concord Music Group Studio Masters

This album is a high-resolution digital transfer of material originating from an analogue master source. It may contain noise, distortion or other artifacts, and may also contain audio which is limited in bandwidth or dynamic range, due to the technology used at the time of its original creation. As such, it is offered as a high-resolution documentation of a historical release.

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
