Presenting two very different works for violin and orchestra, Ilya Gringolts masterfully performs John Adam’s Violin Concerto and Korngold’s Violin Concerto in D Major, Op. 35, accompanied by the Copenhagen Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Santtu-Matias Rouvali and Julien Salemkour respectively. Known for premiering new works, Russian violinist Gringolt’s virtuosity and expressivity make for beguiling interpretations of these twentieth-century pieces.
