The Australian Chamber Orchestra, directed from the violin by Richard Tognetti, presents a triumphant account of Mozart’s three final symphonies on this live recording that vividly captures the orchestra's energy and vivacity. The performances were given as part of the ACO’s 40th anniversary celebrations in 2015, concerts that were described by local critics as "magnificent" (The Sydney Morning Herald) and "miraculous" (The Daily Telegraph). Tognetti performed the same programme with the ACO some 26 years earlier, soon after he was appointed the orchestra's artistic director. Composed over the course of just six weeks, these inspirational works represent the pinnacle of artistic achievement and stand as a mighty epitaph to Mozart's musical genius.

"One thing you get with Mozart, and no other composer comes close, is dancing on your own joy."
- Richard Tognetti

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
