"At the heart of the band is theatrically astute frontwoman Isabel Muñoz-Newsome, whose vocals swoop into terrain somewhere between Björk, Siouxsie Sioux and Florence Welch. Indeed, the latter is a good starting point for comparison, but Pumerosa’s music is less mannered. The lyrics throughout are opaque, ripe for interpretation, but delivered with suitable passion ... a big, prudently adventurous breakthrough release."
- The Arts Desk

Preceded by the singles Priestess and Honey, the debut album The Witch from London "industrial spiritual" band Pumarosa is a collection of songs that channel the undercurrents of the present day: collectivism, frustration, euphoria, feminism, politics, aggression and love. Produced by Dan Carey (Kate Tempest, Toy, Sex Witch), The Witch was a "revelatory" experience for the group members, none of whom had gone through the process of recording an album before.

"... (Dan) guided us through it, continually making it fun and experimental. Dan produces records in a very fluent way; tracking as much as possible simultaneously and often favouring the takes that weren't flawless, but contain that mysterious ingredient that makes it 'the one.'"

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
