Jazz vocal superstar Gregory Porter arrived on the scene with his 2010 Water, successfully blowing his competition out of it. His follow up release Be Good continues to establish him as one of the most important singers in the contemporary jazz milieu - his nine gorgeous original compositions ooze with a certain familiarity yet gleam with a distinct forward-looking sensibility. Rhythm section players Chip Crawford, Aaron James and Emanuel Harrold accompany Porter with a sparse sensitivity that perfectly sustains his rich baritone, highlighting his impressive improvisations and vocal stylings.
