"... finds the band harkening back to their 1994 debut ... even if that wasn’t their initial intention ... (on lead single Broke Down Stupid) the riffs are dizzying in their slog, like a drunk tethered to a stake, dragging himself through circles in the mud ... there are moments of what sound like redemption before guitar slides drop everything back into self-flagellation ... (a) killer track ..."
- Consequence of Sound

The Lower Side of Uptown showcases the louder and heavier side of Texas rock band the Toadies, with a collection of songs largely written in the studio and produced by the group's longtime associate, Chris "Frenchie" Smith.

"When we got to the studio with nothing more than a pile of riffs, what came out of the band was really loud and heavy music. So not only is this album louder than (2015’s) Heretics, I think it’s louder and heavier than the last couple Toadies albums."

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
