In 2011 NPR named JD McPherson as an “artist you should know.” Hailing from Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, the former art teacher turned singer-songwriter fills in the gaps between albums with this EP of four cover songs of special significance to him. His voice has been compared to Little Richard and Fats Domino, two of his major influences; his musical style has been called retro and rockabilly.
