Kenny Dorham's 1959 release Quiet Kenny may be one of the loveliest albums ever made by a trumpeter and a rhythm section, but the session is not entirely "quiet.” While the ballads cast a late night spell, Dorham's three blues originals plus Mack The Knife have plenty of swing. Dorham is joined by the versatile and very busy rhythm section of Tommy Flanagan on piano, Paul Chambers on bass and Art Taylor on drums.
