Billboard Top Classical Albums - #1, 2012 "... part of me is still pinching itself that the music of modern giant Benjamin Britten was used so extensively in a major motion picture ..." - The New Yorker "... the soundtrack’s music functioned in a unique role as a muse for film. Anderson's script was inspired in part by a production of Britten’s Noye’s Fludde. As bookends to the film, Britten’s The Young Person’s Guide To The Orchestra, performed by Leonard Bernstein and the New York Philharmonic, play earnestly ..." - The Hollywood Reporter This soundtrack to Wes Anderson's 2012 film features the music of classical composer Benjamin Britten, which forms part of the core of the story. Alongside Britten's compositions can be heard songs by Hank Williams, Françoise Hardy and an original suite by film composer Alexandre Desplat. The album went to number one on Billboard's Top Classical Albums chart after only six weeks. "... (Britten's music) had a huge effect on the whole movie ... the movie's sort of set to it. The play of Noye's Fludde performed in it, my older brother and I were actually in a production of that when I was 10 or 11 and that music is something I've always remembered and made a very strong impression on me. It is the colour of the movie in a way." - Wes Anderson

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
