A gold album in the US, Steppenwolf's 1970 release 7 is the fifth studio record from the band and seventh overall album. Bandleader John Kay credits guitarist Larry Byrom and new bassist George Biondo for a creative surge and says they were not only fine players but also excellent singers whose vocal talents were used to good advantage on several of these tracks. Includes the anti-drug song Snowblind Friend written by Hoyt Axton.
