"Any improvement in definition enhances Cho-Liang Lin’s elegant tone production, but he sounds very sweet here ... you could listen to this kind of violin tone for a long, long time and for me, that’s heaven. Strongly recommended."
- Fanfare

Acclaimed violinist Cho-Liang Lin and the ensemble Sejong present this recording of Vivaldi's immortal classic, The Four Seasons, with its virtuoso part for solo violin. The work evokes not only the changing atmospheric conditions, but bird calls and animal cries, swaying grass, bubbling brooks and even comical drunkards and a man walking on ice.

This album was mastered using our 2xHD proprietary system.
In order to achieve the most accurate reproduction of the original recording we tailor our process specifically for each project, using a selection from our pool of state-of-the-art audiophile components and connectors. The process begins with a transfer to analog from the original 96kHz/24-bit resolution master, using cutting edge D/A converters. The analog signal is then sent through a hi-end tube pre-amplifier and (if needed) will be EQ’d before being recorded directly in DXD using the dCS905 A/D and the dCS Vivaldi Clock. All connections used in the process are made of OCC silver cable.

DSD 2.8224 MHz/1-bit and PCM 352.8kHz/24-bit and 192kHz/24-bit versions are separately generated, directly from the analog signal.

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
