This is the debut recording from Finnish violinist Petteri Iivonen, a rising star in the world of classical music, released in 2011. While most of the works here are for solo violin, Iivonen is joined on the Debussy sonata, the album's centerpiece, by Kevin Fitzgerald at the keyboard. The final two pieces, by David S. Lefkowitz and Bach, were recorded live; Lefkowitz's Eli Eli was commisioned especially for this album.
