- All About Jazz
Odyssey Of Iska is one of the last albums Wayne Shorter recorded for Blue Note before founding the jazz fusion group Weather Report. The session took place in August 1970, however the album didn't come out until 1971, after Shorter had left the label. Named for his daughter Iska, who was born around the same time Shorter recorded this album, the unconventional lineup includes one guitarist, two bassists and four percussion players.
