Mode For Joe, recorded and released in 1966, was Joe Henderson's last recording as leader for Blue Note until he returned to the label almost 20 years later. On this album of all-original material by Henderson and bandmates, the tenor saxophonist is backed by an all-star septet: Lee Morgan on trumpet, Curtis Fuller on trombone, Bobby Hutcherson on vibes, Cedar Walton on piano, Ron Carter on bass and Joe Chambers on drums.
