Coming Of Age, the second album from acclaimed American bassist Ben Williams, continues to showcase his impeccable talent for acoustic and electric bass as he explores the common elements of jazz, hip-hop, rock and soul. He embarks on a bolder journey this time out with more original songs (nine out of the 11 tunes here are Williams compositions) and a reflection of his new outlook as a seasoned musician. Among the two non-originals is a unique cover of Nirvana's Smells Like Teen Spirit. The album is chock full of special guest musicians including a string quartet and noteworthy names from the world of jazz.
