Before Grace Jones transitioned to the reggae flavours of her later crossover success, she was firmly rooted in disco. Her second album Fame, from 1978, was recorded in Philadelphia and produced by one of the most influential mixers and producers from the early days of the disco boom, Tom Moulton. It repeats the formula from her previous album of a continuous medley on side one and contains an interpretation of the vintage ballad Autumn Leaves as well as Do Or Die, a number three hit on the dance chart.
