Available in 96 kHz / 24-bit AIFF and FLAC high-resolution audio formats

"... captivating no-frills folk tunes for pop fans who've got the blues ... with Madisen's howling tenor a goose bump-inducing quiver and Mama Bear Ruth's walking guitar lines reminiscent of Willie Nelson's casual pickin' style."

Skeleton Crew is the debut album from Kansas City country band Madisen Ward and the Mama Bear, a mother-and-son act comprising Madisen Ward and his mother Ruth. Produced in Nashville by Grammy winner Jim Abbiss (Arctic Monkeys, Adele), Skeleton Crew captures the Wards in their most natural setting: the two recorded most of the tracks live, sitting across from one another in the recording studio. With help from a handful of session musicians, they recreate the sound they’d been making since their early days playing coffee shops: a mix of folk, rock and driving roots music that nods to the past while still pushing forward.

"There's so many talented people in the world (that) there's got to be a mom playing with her son somewhere and they're probably amazing. We really didn't set out to be a duo ... we started to realize that other people we were playing with wasn't quite what we wanted to do and a lot more original songs started coming into form. We finally just stopped doing our own thing, set our egos aside and said, 'Let's just go ahead and make this a duo and really try and pursue it head on.' But we were reluctant ... my mom was saying she was too cool for me."

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
