"... may reveal to some listeners not only an additional brilliance in the violin part, but also a skillfully wrought orchestration that enhances the work’s ethnic vibrancy. The engineers have captured Yang up flatteringly close, but they’ve lost none of the orchestral detail. Urgently recommended ..."
- Fanfare
This volume concludes an internationally acclaimed series of recordings of Pablo de Sarasate’s works for violin and orchestra from young Chinese violinist Tianwa Yang, joined on this stunning programme by the Orquesta Sinfónica de Navarra led by Ernest Martínez Izquierdo. The recording includes the popular Introduction et Tarantelle, two delightful jotas and the Fantaisie on Der Freischütz which displays Sarasate’s scintillating flying staccato technique.
