"Four Stars ... (Feola's) singing is marked by poise and eloquence ... she spins out seamless phrases with unflagging care for the words ... pianist Iain Burnside is supportive and vivid throughout ..."
- The Guardian
Young Italian soprano Rosa Feola captured international attention as a triple winner at the Plácido Domingo World Opera Competition in 2010, setting the stage for this debut solo album. Accompanied by Scottish pianist Iain Burnside, Feola demonstrates her sensitive phrasing, imaginative colouring of words and intuitive feel for text on this celebration of music and Italian poetry, in which master orchestrator Respighi paints Tuscan folk scenes and woodland deities and Liszt is inspired by Petrarch.
