This is the third and final album in a series featuring ballet, theatre and dance music performed by the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, led by Kazuki Yamada. Containing some of the most enchanting and characteristic dances ever written by some of the greatest Russian composers of the 19th and 20th centuries, the programme combines Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake Suite, Alexander Glazunov’s two Concert Waltzes, Shostakovich’s The Golden Age Ballet Suite and Stravinsky’s Circus Polka, composed for a young elephant.
