As violinist Callum Smart and pianist Richard Uttley were exploring and recording this album of French music by Poulenc, Fauré and Ravel, they discovered an emerging common theme of "the voice." The duo chose La voix as a fitting title for these works which all display a central vocal quality, each piece speaking or singing with its own particular type of voice.
