Digital Booklet
"Five Stars ... a most worthy return to her roots ... gently transcendent and calming ... the perfect salve for these rapid-paced and troubled times ... like finding a quiet, pastoral retreat ... a captivating experience ... Lua ya's spacious, pristine charm is something not to be heard but, rather, to be felt ... needs only to be heard once to capture the heart, the mind and the soul." - All About Jazz South Korean singer Yeahwon Shin’s ECM debut Lua ya is a gentle album of songs and lullabies, recorded in 2012 in the spacious acoustics of Mechanics Hall near Boston and dedicated to mothers and children everywhere. Shin and pianist Aaron Parks played together just once before this recording, finding an instant improvisational connection which is further explored on this very intuitive set. Accordionist Rob Curto shares with Shin an affinity for Brazilian music and has collaborated with her previously, but this project goes beyond idiomatic borderlines: Korean children’s songs are amongst the inspirational sources and while jazz has influenced the phrasing and imagination of all three participants, Lua ya seems to emerge from a place of pure music and a common reservoir of feeling.

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
