Digital Booklet
|
Mariss Jansons and the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks deliver sensitive, dynamic and majestic interpretations of Dvořák’s lyrical and cheerful Symphony No. 8 and Carnival Overture, recorded live at two concerts in January 2016 in Munich. The album also contains a studio recording of the Serenade for Strings by Josef Suk, Dvořák’s student and son-in-law. His first successful work, it was audibly influenced by Suk's teacher, father-in-law and mentor, but is also a highly individual work and an important example of the genre.
