On In Movement, veteran drummer Jack DeJohnette's introduces his adventurous, multigenerational new trio. Fifty years ago, as a guest with John Coltrane's group, DeJohnette played with the fathers of his current trio members, saxophonist Ravi Coltrane and bassist Matthew Garrison, son of Jimmy Garrison. In a programme full of references to jazz history, the forward movement of this ensemble is nonetheless unmistakeable.
