SOULROCKER features the trademark joyously upbeat rhythmic pop of Michael Franti & Spearhead, typified by the song Crazy For You that highlights Franti’s soulful vocals and encompasses his socially conscious outlook. Co-produced with Jamaican producers Stephen "Di Genius” McGregor (son of reggae luminary Freddie McGregor) and Dwayne "Supa Dups” Chin Quee (Bruno Mars, John Legend), the album introduces a new sensibility to the band's potent hybrid: a gracefully arranged take on electronic music that more than fulfills Franti's mission of making impassioned yet danceable tunes.
