Lina Bahn explores the depths and possibilities of the solo violin on this recording, which grew out of Bahn’s friendships with and admiration for the composers represented. On this album, containing four world premieres, she effortlessly surmounts the challenges of polyphony and virtuoso technique while maintaining intensely personal styles that range from Celtic fiddling to a tribute to Bartók.
