This debut solo release from Sebian-born violist Milan Milisavljević includes solo works by Bach, Britten, Elliott Carter, Aram Khachaturian, Krysztof Penderecki, Valentin Silvestrov and the world premiere of a John Harbison composition. Milisavljević demonstrates stunning beauty of tone and stylistic magic on this fascinating and highly varied programme, some of these pieces in his own arrangements. To hear him play his marvellous transcription of Bach’s famous Chaconne is a particularly moving and transcendental listening experience.
