Mezzo-soprano Clare Wilkinson leads a superb cast of vocalists and musicians on this feast by the late Roy Heaton Smith, including chamber works for clarinet, recorder and viola, solo piano music, string quartets and songs all bubbling with inspiration and freedom of expression and style. A bonus track is a performance taken from an AM radio broadcast in 1958, recorded off-air to an acetate disc which became damaged. For this release it has been restored; not just rendered "playable" but presented in good sound balance, remaining the only document of Smith's fine Divertimento.
