Billboard 200 - #35, 2016 "Back to the beach. And to her roots ... Caillat wisely returns to her pop singer-songwriter ways ... even tosses in dashes of reggae to ensure these songs are every bit as warm, sunny, breezy and relaxing as a day by the ocean." - Toronto Sun "If there were a Grammy Award for Happiest Album of the Year, Colbie Caillat’s The Malibu Sessions would win hands-down. It’s a carefree party, skimming on waves of acoustic guitar and sweet harmonies, kissed in its first and final moments by the hiss of Pacific surf." - USA Today For the first time in her decade-long career, Colbie Caillat has made an album exactly the way she wanted. It’s also the first for her own label. Eschewing traditional studios, the Grammy-winning, multiplatinum singer-songwriter (and renowned beach lover) recorded The Malibu Sessions over a two-month period in a rented house in Southern California’s beautiful Broad Beach. The result is a sun-kissed collection of breezy, buoyant, yet often vulnerable songs, with timeless harmonies, catchy melodies and a harmonious vibe that recalls classic ‘70s rock. Caillat moved in her musical family, including longtime collaborator Jason Reeves, her musician fiancé Justin Young and producer John Shanks who trucked in all the equipment. Throughout, the album’s melodies and harmonies recall the acoustic side of such artists as Fleetwood Mac (Caillat’s father engineered the band’s landmark Rumours and Tusk), Tom Petty and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. "I knew that I wanted to change the way I’d been recording ... I made a promise to myself that when I recorded the next album, I’d do it this way ... every morning we’d do these beach walks down Zuma Beach and get smoothies or burritos. We’d get our exercise, get our sun, get our nutritious food and we’d all be doing it together. It was a great way to start the day." - Colbie Caillat

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
