Grammy Award - Best Bluegrass Album, 2016

"Coming Home is a warm and lively acoustic music event. Mark O’Connor has managed to discover and reveal some very high level and intriguing new talent, within his own family! As a longtime fan, it’s very satisfying to hear Mark’s fiddling back in the bluegrass/country setting after 20 years away from it. There is nobody who does it like him."
- Bela Fleck

The O'Connor Band is a bluegrass family affair led by veteran fiddle legend Mark O’Connor and featuring his son Forrest on mandolin, his wife Maggie on fiddle and vocals and Forrest's fiancée Kate Lee on vocals and fiddle. Coming Home is the band's debut, co-produced by Grammy winner Gregg Field, taking its title from Forrest’s song that reflects the arc of his dad’s career and the meaning of this album so aptly. The O'Connor Band draws upon a deep well of talent and tradition to make music whose sonic and emotional appeal transcends time and genre, demonstrating an effortless rapport that underlines the group's family roots as well as its prestigious collective pedigree.

"I’ve recorded on at least 500 albums, but I have to say, there are very few, if any, that I’ve been as proud of as this O’Connor Band album ... we’re bridging the gap between progressive bluegrass, country and indie folk and yet creating something that is also very commercially viable."
- Mark O’Connor

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
