Grammy Award nomination - Producer of the Year, Classical, 2016 "... remarkable ... thoughtful and vibrant." - Strings Jennifer Koh, Musical America’s 2016 Instrumentalist of the Year, headlines an album of Tchaikovsky’s complete works for violin and orchestra, featuring the Odense Symphony. It’s the American violinist’s first Tchaikovsky recording and the highlight is the Concerto in D Major, one of the most celebrated and daunting works in the entire violin repertoire, so difficult it has been called "unplayable" by some. "I can’t even recall the first time I heard the Tchaikovsky concerto, it almost feels like it has been in my consciousness since I knew classical music. I was completely in love with this piece, so any technical difficulty in the initial learning process didn’t matter. It was just about 'Oh yea, of course I have to learn this' because I just love the piece so much that I was driven to be able to play everything ... what I love about the first movement is that of course things might be considered technically difficult but it’s really about finding colour and lyricism even in the most difficult passages. I think that is really what the entire concerto is about." - Jennifer Koh

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
