Swedish pianist Jacob Karlzon has become known for his talents as a keyboardist, a bandleader, a composer and a musical director for famous colleagues. On this acclaimed 2011 release, he and his trio members Hans Andersson on bass and drummer Jonas Holgersson combine influences from classical impressionism, ethnic music and American metal with modern Scandinavian jazz lyricism, a pulsating, mesmerizing and immediate beat and the buzz of improvisation.
