Jazz singer Steve Tyrell releases a tribute album to the great Ray Charles with Shades of Ray: The Songs of Ray Charles. Tyrell has previously collaborated with artists like Rod Stewart, Linda Ronstadt, Aaron Neville, Diana Ross, and Dionne Warwick. The album features renditions of “Let the Good Times Roll,” “I Got a Woman,” “You Don’t Know Me,” and more.
“Ray’s versions of these songs are so timeless that there’s no point in trying to copy him. What I tried to do is take the influence he’s had on me over the years and let that inspire performances straight from my heart.”
