Ney Matogrosso turns 80 on August 1, 2021 as one of the greatest interpreters in Brazil. To honor him, Warner Music is releasing this 16-track compilation. The big surprise of Ney 80 Anos is the reissue of the first songs that Ney recorded, years before joining the group Secos & Molhados, and which remained unpublished on digital platforms: 'Tema de Maria' (this one never reissued, not even on CD) and 'A Blue road'.
The album ranges from rock by Raul Seixas (Metamorfose Ambulante) to the sophistication of the duo Sueli Costa and Tite de Lemos (Açúcar Candy), passing by Odair José (Sing Uma Canção de Amor) and representative songs by Luli and Lucina (Bandolero, Me Rói, Pedra de Rio), fundamental friends of the artist.
