Jónsi collaborator Alex Somers and Japanese composer/producer Aska Matsumiya join forces for their new project Light Past Blue, named for the new five-part joint composition of the same name. The piece was written for Claire Tabouret's Solo exhibition "IF ONLY THE SEA COULD SLEEP" at Hab Gallery in Nantes Frances.
"We created a piece that includes field recordings of the sea, boat croaking, chimes swinging in the wind - a feeling of being in the middle of the sea accompanied by cello melody performed by Gyda Valtysdottir and a harp performed by Mary Lattimore and sent it to 24 channel surround system separating each elements of the composition to intertwine and flow with the story of her paintings."
