Digital Booklet
"Thanks to their sensitive interpretation, the duo sets the record straight on the musical qualities, finally uncovered, of these luminous creators." - Info-Culture.biz The repertoire of French music by female composers, although a very rich one, is just starting to attract attention and be recorded. In 2007, soprano Hélène Guilmette, while skimming through sheet music, came upon works by Mélanie (Mel) Bonis, a true revelation. She decided to bring to light the obscure work of these creative women that was all but forgotten until now. She takes us on a journey through the 19th and 20th centuries with this portrait of ten female composers, showcasing their vitality and their originality. Guilmette is accompanied by her longtime piano partner Martin Dubé on this 2013 recording. "This album dedicated to women's music is the result of many years of difficult research. Every melody that was recovered becomes a real treasure." - Hélène Guilmette

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
