Young violinist Razvan Stoica has won over 35 international awards, most notably a 2009 first place at the prestigious Strad Competition in Salzburg. His prize was an Antonius Stradivarius violin, nicknamed The Queen, crafted in 1729 and once played by Paganini himself. The album Strad Style accompanies a 2017 documentary of the same name featuring Stoica and Ohio violin maker Daniel Houck, who built and presented Stoica with an exquisite copy of Guarnieri's Il Canone. One of the most valuable violins in the world, it is an instrument particularly suited to Stoica’s overwhelming technique and sound.
