This series of six Hamburg symphonies was considered almost avant-garde when first written by C.P.E. Bach and afforded the composer a chance to blow off some steam. Wolfram Christ leads the Stuttgarter Kammerorchester on these highly demanding pieces featuring a lively continuo played on fortepiano. Pianist Sebastian Küchler-Blessing gives the recording a sense of style and imagination through his unique expressiveness.
