Enjoy this small trove of treasured delights from Elizabethan times to the present in this live recording of the 2021 Christmas Revels, an annual celebration of the winter solstice presented at Harvard University's Sanders Theatre. The selections span the distance from Renaissance art songs through English pub carols to American gospel, with lots of crossover as these three musical traditions merge and coalesce. The Christmas Revels are popular annual holiday productions combining traditional music, dance, rituals and folktales presented in nine cities across the country.
