The magic of that first encounter was recorded "live" on acoustic instruments, mostly in long single takes with as little preplanning as possible, yielding little improvisational miracles throughout. The three musicians arrived at the studio in the afternoon and by the time they emerged some five or six hours later, they knew they had created something very special.
